Change your password as an extra measure of protection

All employees at Umeå University must change the password linked to their Umu-id. This is done to increase security and reduce the risk of unauthorised access. 

Students have been informed about password change and work is ongoing.

Access to Aurora staff website requires university network or a VPN

From Wednesday, 15 May 2024, you need to use Umeå University's fixed network, UMU wifi or Eduroam to access the staff website Aurora. If you work remotely, you need to have a VPN activated to access the staff website

Change your password for your Umu-id – another security precaution

To continue the security work after the cyberattack, all students and staff are now urged to change their Umu-id password. This information has been published for all students. Change your password on 7 May.

Umeå University is the subject of a major cyberattack

On 2 May, ITS detected an ongoing cyberattack against the University. Extra security measures have been put in place, leading to some disruption to systems and digital tools used by university staff and students.

Aurora moves on 4 June

We are redesigning the Aurora website for staff to store more information in one place. On 4 June, Aurora will move into Sharepoint. You will be able to search for more information where you already are – in Teams, shared documents and close to your department's or faculty's information.
