If your project is funded by the EU or a US funder, we at the Research Support Office will offer you special support. Otherwise, it is primarily your department that you turn to for support during the project phase, although you can always contact us for advice.
Project start-up
When new EU and American projects are approved, we at the Research Support Office always offer a start-up meeting. Here we invite you as a researcher, the relevant finance administrator and the Head of your Department to go through the administrative rules and routines that apply. In this way, we want to facilitate the project's start, implementation and end.
Ongoing administration, accounting and auditing
We can support you in the day-to-day administration of EU and US projects. In addition, we at the Research Support Office are responsible for reviewing all financial reports of EU projects before they are submitted. Therefore, it is important that you contact us in good time, so that we can agree on the procedure.
Any audits initiated by the European Commission or US funders will also be coordinated by us from the Research Support Office, on behalf of Umeå University.
General support
With extensive knowledge of EU and US regulations, policies and practices, we are here for you if you have any questions or concerns during the project. For example, if you want to know more about how the EU's Funding & Tenders Portal works, are unsure of how to handle project funds internally, need advice on interpreting or finding information about deliveries, or support in your communication with the European Commission.
