Recruitment of doctoral students

All positions as doctoral students should be announced in order to achieve a competitive recruitment. Umeå University has Admission regulations for doctoral education (in Swedish) which the faculty has to follow.

Recruitment of a doctoral student is first and foremost recruitment to a study position. That means that the process and regulations are somewhat different compared to other staff recruitment. It is important to select the right candidate and for that purpose the Faculty of Science and Technology has developed the following guides for the departments for successful recruitment of doctoral students:
