The Faculty of Science and Technology conducts research in all eleven departments.
Research Committee
The Research Committee deals with research-related issues on behalf of the Faculty Board, such as the allocation of faculty-funded research time. The committee usually meets four times per semester.

The Faculty's research infrastructure is divided into national equipment and equipment of lower cost.
Faculty founded research time - FFT
The Faculty of Science and Technology has a unique system for allocating research time to its permanently employed teachers, called FFT. Our senior lecturers and professors can apply for up to 75 per cent free research time for periods of up to five years. The system provides very good conditions for our teachers to conduct good quality research and creates good opportunities for long-term and bold research strategies.
The faculty rewards researchers with good publication records, who receive external research grants, and who take responsibility for doctoral students and postdocs. The call for FFT takes place once a year and applications are made on the application form established by the Faculty Board.
Assistant professorships
The Faculty has strategically chosen to offer a number of widely advertised merit positions (assistant professorships) aimed at attracting young researchers who are prepared to take on the challenges of the future. The position offers very good research and training conditions.
Accepted candidates receive a multi-year appointment with a generous start-up package. Within the employment, a large proportion of free research is guaranteed, which provides good opportunities for the admitted candidates to deepen and establish themselves in their research areas and to merit themselves in the faculty's educational activities. The position also provides good opportunities for promotion to senior lecturer. Announcements are made every two years, starting in 2020.
