E-mail for employees

All employees at Umeå University have an e-mail address linked to the university. The address is associated with your name and must be used for e-mail within the employment.

The composition of the email address

Your email address is created based on your name as entered in the personnel system. If you have several first or last names, you can choose how they should be used. You who have double names where the names are joined by hyphens will receive an e-mail address according to firstname-firstname@umu.se.

How to change your email address

If you have changed your name and want to change your e-mail address, you must first contact the person in charge of human resources at your department or unit. The personnel manager changes the name in the personnel system.

You then contact the person in charge of the catalog at your department or unit who can change your email address.
