Calls for travel and conference grants coming up

    The Kempe Foundations can now announce calls for travel and conference grants to staff at Umeå University again. No travelling is allowed before 29 September, though. Grants can also be used for fees for online conferences.

    In 2020, no funding calls for travel and conference grants from the Kempe Foundations were announced due to the pandemic. The Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University has now decided that calls for grants can be announced again. However, extensive restrictiveness applies to business travel for university staff until 29 September. This means that grants cannot be used for travelling expenses until then. Umeå University instead wants to encourage participation in online conferences or travel-free meetings.

    The Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University made the decision of allowing funding calls for travel and conference grants on 22 June 2021.
