Attend the Spring Graduation 13 May 2023

The Spring Graduation is one of the University's two academic celebrations. During two days in May, the University's jubilee doctors, new doctors, and scientific and pedagogical award recipients are celebrated.

The ceremony in Aula Nordica at 16:00-18:00 is open to the public and no ticket is required. At the ceremony, jubilee doctors (doctors who had their doctoral degree conferred 50 years ago), new doctors and award recipients are being honoured. The ceremony programme is highlighted by song and music and lasts for about two hours. No dress code is applied for audience only attending the ceremony.

The banquet

The banquet is held in restaurant Universum after the ceremony and includes an aperitif, a three-course dinner, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, coffee and dancing to the band Renhornen.

Staff members including one guest may register for the banquet and the fee is SEK 850 per person.

Register for the banquet

You may register yourself and also one guest by sending an email to promotion@umu.se no later than 31 March (first come, first served).
State:

  • name
  • department
  • name of accompanying guest
  • any special dietary requirements for you and accompanying guest
  • if you will pay yourself (state address and date of birth) or if you department will pay (state department, contact person at the department and organizational unit). The invoice will be sent after the celebration.

Dress code at the banquet

Banquet guests must follow a formal or informal evening dress code. White tie and tails and white waistcoat, long or short (below the knee) evening gowns, traditional (folk) costumes or dark business suits.
