Collaboration site for sensitive personal data in student work
Why? In the spring of 2023, a decision was made to develop a recommended storage solution for students who handle sensitive personal data in their student work. This is completely in line with the work that is done in the digital workplace where one of the goals is to achieve a feeling that it should be easy to do the right thing.
When? At the start of the autumn semester 2023.

Why? To make it easier for you as an employee to manage and share your digital work material in M365 in the right way based on its protection value.

Why? The goal is to have a modern, unified and adaptable platform for the mobile and hybrid office where all devices at Umeå University are managed by Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).

Migrating telephony from Skype to Teams
Why? Microsoft will not continue to develop Skype and has chosen to develop telephony in Teams instead. Therefore, we will replace Skype with Teams in Microsoft 365.

Migrating email to Microsoft 365
Why? The e-mail is moved from Exchange on prem to the cloud service Microsoft 365, in order to gather the offer within Microsoft 365.
When? Ongoing during 2022.
Changing name from Office 365 to Microsoft 365
Why? To use the same name as Microsoft and others in the industry.
When? Information on Aurora and in instructions will be updated in the fall of 2022. In a transition period, you may see both names "Office 365" and "Microsoft 365".
Introduction of multi-factor authentication (MFA)
Why? To increase the security of our accounts and systems. MFA provides another layer of protection in the login process.
