New access card readers on campus

24 March 2015

The exchange of access card readers in the pass system on Campus Umeå begins this week. The buildings concerned are the Caring Sciences Building, the Biology Building and the Natural Sciences Building. As a result of the card reader exchange, the access cards with magnetic strips become invalid. All employees and students will therefore need a UmU card to get access to the premises.

The existing card readers for magnetic strips will be exchanged for readers with non-contact technique. As a result of the card reader exchange, the magnetic strip cards become invalid. You'll therefore need a UmU card.

The exchange work is supposed to be finished in June 2015 but you can get your UmU card today if you like, since it's working with the present magnetic strip technique as well as the coming non-contact technique.

The card reader exchange does not include Umeå Arts Campus, Campus Skellefteå or Campus Örnsköldsvik.
