New routine when publishing files on umu.se due to new law

8 September 2015

On 1 January 2015, the Legal Deposit Act for Electronic Material came into effect. As a result, a new routine when publishing files in Infoglue has been introduced and means that some types of files need to be submitted to the National Library of Sweden (KB) to be filed. The change applies to files aimed at the general public and published using Infoglue, and not those published on Aurora using Episerver.

The new routine means that some types of files that are published using Infoglue should also be submitted to KB for filing. The files are submitted using a form available on Aurora. Whether a file falls under the Legal Deposit Act and needs to be submitted should be determined by the person who publishes them. The files are then submitted using a form available on Aurora.

All material does not have to be submitted

The Legal Deposit Act means that files aimed at the general public fall under the law and need to be submitted. Material that is only aimed at staff or current students does not have to be submitted.

More information is available in Infoglue

This week, all web editors will receive an email with information about the change in routines. Information, a guide and a link is also available in Infoglue on the page where you approve the requested publishing.
