Three members representing the university's teachers and two group deputy members with a relative order – first and second group deputy member – should be chosen to the University Board for the upcoming three-year period. The Elector Assembly decides on the final appointment of board members, but it is now time to nominate eligible candidates.
Eligibility
Scientifically competent teachers employed at Umeå University with a minimum employment of 50 per cent and with an open-ended employment contract are eligible as teacher representatives to the University Board.
The nominees may not exceed the age of 67 during the term of office or have held two consecutive terms of office of a total of six years as teacher representative to the University Board.
In this context, scientifically competent teachers refer to open-ended employed university lecturers, professors, associate senior lecturers, other lecturers with doctoral degrees according to the current appointments procedure, and research assistants. Professors and lecturers on an artistic basis are also included in this category.
Heads of Department, Heads of Units, Associate Heads of Department, Deputy Heads of Department or members of the Faculty Board are not eligible as members of the Board.
Nomination
The elector assembly welcomes nominees with deep and wide-ranging knowledge about the university's activities and operations. The nominees should be informed and have accepted the nomination.
The nomination together with a short CV (maximum of two pages) should be submitted by email to the academic secretary Daniel Andersson, at daniel.l.andersson@umu.se, by 21 October at 16:00 at the latest.
The choice of teacher representatives to the University Board is made at the Elector Assembly's second meeting on 26 November.
