Calls for applications within Internationalisation

Committee for Strategic Internationalisation invites applications for activities within internationalisation. Apply no later than May 2, 2019.

I. Grant for an international stay during doctoral studies

This call is directed towards doctoral candidates for an academic visit at a university abroad (≥3 weeks) during their doctoral studies. The international research milieu at the host university should benefit the dissertation and also have potential for a future post-doc. Supervisors support is obligatory and a pass in 50 % seminar is meritorious. Maximum of 25 000 SEK will be awarded.

II. Grant for preparation of international stay during a post-doc

This call is directed towards doctoral candidates for an academic visit a university abroad in order to prepare for a post-doc application. Can be applied for during doctoral studies or within two years of dissertation. Maximum of 15 000 SEK will be awarded.

III. Grant for mobility during post-doc

This call is directed towards post-doc for an academic visit during post-doc (≥3 weeks). This applies to both incoming as well as outgoing candidates. Maximum of 25 000 SEK will be awarded

IV. Grant for developing courses/moment in English

This call is directed towards staff to develop courses/moments in English within the faculties study programmes. The effort could be comprised of internal development and/or in cooperation with an international institution. Maximum of 30 000 SEK will be awarded.

V. Grant for establishing good relations with international institutions

This call is directed towards staff for activities that can contribute towards establishing good relations with current and potential international partner institutions, with regards to student and staff mobility. Maximum of 25 000 SEK will be awarded.

Instructions for application and reporting

Application should be sent to medel@diarie.umu.se by 2019-05-02 latest, expected response by 2019-06-20 and the grant can be utilized by 2020-06-30. Mention which grant the application is for in the subject.

Applicant for grant I II or III should be a doctoral candidate or a post-doc at the Faculty of Medicine. Applicant to grant IV or V should be teaching staff or affiliated at the Faculty of Medicine or appointed at Region Västerbotten.

Application should be of maximum 1 A4 page (Georgia font 10). Mention one of the grants (I-V), applicant name and personnummer, department, email and mobile, intended international university and the contact person (not required for IV), planned activities and expected benefits and budget, including any co-financing (mention name and amount of the sponsor). Please note that co-financing is meritorious. Mention who has approved the application: supervisor (I & II), head of department (III) or Chair of Program Council (IV-V).

Report of a maximum 1 A4 page (Georgia font 10), including an accounting of finances is to be submitted to IKOM within 1 month of conclusion of the activity, but no later than 2020-09-30. Awarded applicants are expected to share their experiences within the faculty.
