Nominate to the research councils’ electoral assemblies

It is now time to start appointing electorates and substitutes to the Swedish Research Council, Forte and Formas. The last date to submit your nominations is 28 June. This covers region 5 which involves Umeå University, Luleå University of Technology and Mid Sweden University.

Every three years, members are appointed to the boards of the Swedish Research Council and its subject councils, the research council of Formas and the board of Forte. Members to these bodies are chosen by electorates through an election governed by the ordinance Förordning om elektorsförsamling vid forskningsråd och ämnesråd (2012:520).

According to this ordinance, Umeå University is responsible for appointing the electorates for region 5 that, which involves Umeå University, Luleå University of Technology and Mid Sweden University.

Umeå University must appoint the following number of electorates and substitutes per research and subject council:

Eligible

To be eligible for nomination to an electorate post, nominees to have academic or artistic qualifications. Also, at least forty per cent of their work should involve the subject area in question.

the Nomination form

The Hearing Committee at Umeå University appoints the electorates on 5 September.
