Develop your teaching – take part in Teaching & Education Day!

    Does group work work? How do you teach teachers about sustainable development? And how do you redesign an education programme, so that is permeated by perspectives of sustainability? These are some of the themes for the annual Teaching & Education Day for the faculty's teaching staff.

    Teaching & Education Day takes places on 20 August 2019 at Umeå Folkets hus and is open for all employees within the faculty interested in developing teaching in all our courses and programmes.

    "During Teaching & Education Day you will learn how others teach, but also in workshops get a chance to think about how you can develop your own teaching" says Karolina Broman, chairman of the faculty's education committee. "The programme will hopefully show both a width of subjects and variation in methods and approach in education. We hope many teachers can prioritize participating during this day."

    Lectures and presentations will be held in English. Keynote speakers are Lena Tibell, Linköping University, on "How can one learn about the "hidden world" - about visualization, AI and "exploration", and Bert Jonsson and Johan Lithner, Umeå University, with a lecture about "Learning and brain research – a mathematics education example".

    Teaching & Education Day begins at 09.00 and finishes at 16.00. Participants will be offered coffee and lunch.
