Broadcast research infrastructures online

1 October 2019

The Umeå University web, umu.se, contains a section on research infrastructure launched in June this year. Those who have a research infrastructure at their disposal can present it to the research community online.

The purpose of presenting research infrastructures on umu.se is to facilitate for researchers visiting our web to explore the University's infrastructures and what opportunities are available for using them in their own research. This goes for both external researchers and researchers at Umeå University.

What infrastructures should be published on umu.se?

The individuals in charge of a research infrastructure make the call whether the infrastructure should be added to umu.se or not.

Infrastructures do not need to have status as an "Umu research infrastructure" nor be connected to Fostra to be made public on umu.se.

Examples of what can be added to the list of infrastructures:

  • an instrument (of certain importance) set up as a "user club" where users contribute to the funding of the instrument through user fees (for instance a confocal microscope)
  • a research infrastructure that is not openly accessible, but making it public could lead to new collaborations (for instance a CT scanner)
  • a research infrastructure of strategical importance to recruitment.

Who can publish?

Contact the content manager (innehållsansvarig) at your department to make information about your research infrastructure publicly accessible online. Information about research infrastructures should be made available in both Swedish and English.
