New roofed bike parking on campus

    Akademiska hus has begun a project to build more bicycle parking with protected covering on Campus Umeå.

    The bicycle parking areas with protected covering will be located outside the following buildings:

    • Northern Behavioural Sciences Building
    • Behavioural Sciences Building
    • Umeå University Library
    • Social Sciences Building
    • Teacher Education Building

    Foundation and ground work are nearly complete and red bicycle roofs on the campus area have begun to be installed.

    Further bicycle parking areas with improved weather protection is part of Akademiska Hus' 'Green Shift" initiative, which aims to encourage faculty, staff and students to walk, cycle or take public transport instead of taking the car.

    Do you need to inflate your bicycle tyres?

    On the campus area, there are several air pump stations available. You will find these at:

    • Teacher Education Building
    • Universum
    • Physiology Building / KBC Building
    • Technology Building
    • SLU - Sweden University of Agricultural Sciences
