Young Academy of Sweden is looking for new members

16 November 2020

Young academy of Sweden is looking for new members for 2021. Scientists who have defended their dissertations a maximum of ten years ago are welcome to apply. In the academy, leading younger researchers meet to discuss and pursue issues that in a broad sense concern research and science.

Young Academy of Sweden is an interdisciplinary academy for a selection of the best young scientists in Sweden, with an activity that rests on four legs: research policy, internationalization, interdisciplinary and external activities. The Academy is an independent platform formed on the initiative of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2011 and has between 35 and 40 members.

As a member of the academy, you get access to a forum where a selection of Sweden's leading younger scientists meet to discuss and pursue issues that in a broad sense concern research and science. Depending on interests, there is an opportunity to, for example, get involved in research policy advocacy work, develop their ability to popular science communication, inspire children and young people to care about science, and grow in the role of academic leader.

The academy does not use a nomination procedure, but prospective new members themselves submit an application in which they describe their scientific qualifications and why they want to join the academy.
