Start preparing for the Spring Graduation of doctors

    The Spring Graduation Ceremony is the annual event that confers new doctors who have completed their degree at Umeå University. The Ceremony takes place in Aula Nordica on Saturday 16 May 2020. And now is high time to start preparing. Find out more about time and dates, dress code and how to register.

    At the Spring Graduation Ceremony at Umeå University doctors and jubilee doctors (doctors who were conferred 50 years ago) are conferred, and awards recipients are celebrated. The Ceremony takes place on 16 May at 16:00 in Aula Nordica, Campus Umeå. The following banquet is held in the adjacent Universum restaurant from 18:00. The ceremony welcomes doctors who apply for their doctoral degree before or on 8 May 2020.

    Please notice that you have to wear formal dress at the ceremony, i.e. white tie and tails and white waistcoat, long evening gown, national costume or an academic gown.


    Doctors of the Faculty of Medicine, who are conferred with a doctoral hat, should note that the deadline for participating in the lottery of renting a doctoral hat is 25 February at 13:00 and for buying a hat, the final date for ordering one is 4 March.
