Forbidden Literature

17 June 2020

In the new anotology Forbidden Literature - Case studies on censorship, the primary purpose is to provide both historical and contemporary examples of the often complex interaction of literature with freedom of expression. One of the editors is Peter Henning, senior lecturer at the Department of Cultural and Media Sciences.

The contributors investigate the logic of literary repression, particularly in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and analyse why it is thought essential to control literature. Moreover, the authors determine how literary practices are shaped and transformed by regulation and censorship.
