Delayed national wage bargaining has knock-on effects on salary reviews

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the national wage bargaining rounds between unions and employers have been postponed. As a consequence, the timeline for the annual salary reviews at Umeå University has also been pushed forward.

The delays to the national wage bargaining rounds in Sweden affect the normal time schedule for salary reviews at Umeå University. Managers have been told to postpone the annual salary discussions with their employees that usually start in early autumn.

Development reviews, however, are still to be conducted as usual. All employees should be offered a development review before the end of the year.

A new time schedule for the salary review process has not yet been decided. Umeå University and the local trade unions are currently negotiating how to proceed with salary discussions, salary-setting discussions and bargaining.
