12 April 2021

Information about the election of scientifically qualified members and deputies to the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Medicine for the period 2021-07-01-2025-06-30.

Since December 2020, after all employees of the Faculty of Medicine had the opportunity to nominate scientifically qualified members (including deputies) and external members (including deputies), the Nomination Committee has been working to develop proposals for the constellation of six (6) full members and three (3) deputy members.

The Nomination Committee's proposal shall consist of three (3) women and three (3) men and three (3) group deputies who shall include at least one woman and at least one man.

The Heads of Departments have examined the electoral roll to ensure that it is comprised of scientifically qualified teachers with the right to vote. Those with the right to vote are scientifically qualified teachers with a position in the Faculty equivalent to at least 50% of full-time. Scientifically qualified refers to those with doctoral degrees. The Dean has subsequently finalized the Faculty's electoral roll, on 9 April 2021. In total, the Faculty has 357 teachers entitled to vote in the Spring 2021 election.

The Nomination Committee has decided on its proposal, on 2021-03-29.

  • election instructions
  • list of eligible candidates
  • ballot papers

  • outer envelopes

The material is sent to those entitled to vote via internal mail (or by regular postal mail to those stationed outside of Umeå). The information is sent in both Swedish and English.

The Dean has decided that the election shall be conducted in accordance with the rules for list system and shall be via postal vote.

Those entitled to vote can choose to vote on the Nomination Committee's proposal, or vote on their own alternative based on the list of eligible candidates. Voters can also choose to vote blank. See the instructions for more information.
