Umu card to be updated

The multi-function card was introduced in 2012 to replace the separate copy card, library card and access card. No major changes, developments or adaptations have taken place since then, but now it is time.

In 2022, the support system for the Umu card will be changed. This will not affect you as a user. You will be able to keep and use your current card as normal.

The plan is to replace all Umu cards in 2023. The new card has a stronger encryption and those who are both students and employees will receive a separate student card with their student access and a separate employee card with their employee access.

You will gain access to a self-service portal where you can change your PIN code and block your card. You will receive information about the exchange when it is time for you to change your card.

The process for obtaining a card will also be improved with the new support system and users will, among other things, be notified when their card is ready for collection, unlike at present.
