Mentoring programme

The Faculty of Social Sciences and The Faculty of Humanities are introducing a new Mentoring programme for early - career researchers.

Early career researchers have limited experience and often need some guidance in the development of their research careers. Thus, the mentoring program has been created to help fulfill this need.

In the mentoring program the early-career researcher will be linked to a senior researcher who will act as their mentor. The mentor will support the early-career researcher by meeting with them a few times during 2021 to have informal discussions on agreed upon topics. Possible areas of discussion could include career planning, prioritization between activities, and how to think in regards to mobility and networking to achieve career goals.

The deadline for early-career researchers to apply to the mentoring programme is 15 March 2021 by e-mail to and this initial run of the program will be limited to 15 participants. Priority will be given to early-career researchers without a permanent position and who are not more than five years from their dissertation defense (exceptions will be made for parental leave and long-term illness). Applicants with permanent positions and PhD students who will be defending their thesis during the spring term of 2021 may also apply. In April 2021 an introductory meeting for mentees will be organized by the Future Faculty.
