An Environmental Management System is a tool for systematizing and structuring the environmental work of business operations.
Environmental management work shall reflect the activities and environmental aspects that are central to the work of the business in question. The University's environmental management work is based on the following:
- significant direct and indirect environmental aspects of the University's activities
- the University's Environmental Policy
- the University's environmental targets
- environmental protection legislation
According to the Ordinance on Environmental Management in Government Agencies (2009:907), all Government agencies must have an Environmental Management System. The results of the environmental work must be reported annually to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
