Newsletters
Umeå University has two official, internal newsletters published via email twice per week. Nyheter för anställda (Employee newsletter) is sent to all staff, and Chefsnytt (Newsletter for managers) is sent to managers and deputy managers such as, but not limited to, heads of departments and offices.
Nyheter för anställda is published every Tuesday around 14:00, excluding during Christmas and summer holiday periods. The content of the newsletter is chosen to simplify for and support staff in their daily work, and emphasises on new decisions, significant changes and activities that are important for a large group of employees. The newsletter contains information in Swedish and English. The send-to list is updated automatically based on the staff directory.
Chefsnytt is published if needed, and in that case on Mondays around 14:00. The newsletter is not published during Christmas and summer holiday periods. The content of the newsletter is chosen to simplify for and support managers in their daily work. Only a limited amount of manager news items is available in English. The send-to list is updated automatically based on the staff directory.

Calender of Events
Departments, offices and equivalent at Umeå University can publish events in their own, the faculties' or Umeå University's calendar lists. The employee needs to have the role of funktionsredaktör (function editor) or webbredaktör (web editor) in the Episerver web publishing system to have the ability to create calendar events.
The role of function editor is added by the directory manager at each department or equivalent and does not require any training, but the web editor role requires training.
