Choose your startpage
When you access Aurora for the first time, you are urged to choose what part of the organisation you belong to. This also controls what startpage content you see.
You can easily change your startpage by clicking "Content filtered for" in the page header.
Each faculty or equivalent has an adapted startpage containing:
- a news feed
- links to faculty pages
- log ins, and
- feeds with funding calls and/or Vice-Chancellor's decisions.
In the footer of the page, you can find support information, search functionality, about the website, as well as contact and invoice details.
Find your way through the information
The collaboration sites that could previously be found on Aurora have been phased out and most sites have been moved to Teams and Sharepoint in Office365. Some sites have been integrated into the regular menu structure of Aurora.
This particularly applies to the "handbooks", which have also changed names:
Chefshandboken including a news feed can now be found under Stöd och service > Administration och chef > För dig som chef (Service and support > Administration and management > For managers).
Handbok för utbildningsfrågor including a news feed for teaching staff can be found under Education and research > Support for education.
The new version of Aurora contains four main headlines. You may notice that "Rules and regulations" has disappeared. "About Umeå University" has also been removed to avoid duplicates with information on umu.se.
This content has now been relocated to the relevant section in the menu structure as well as to the new headline "Organisation and management".
New search function
The old search engine used on Aurora was tied to Sharepoint. Hence, the search engine has been replaced with the same as is used for umu.se. This means that when you are searching for content on Aurora, you will receive your search hits on a joint page on which you also get hits from other parts of umu.se.
You can filter the hits to simplify finding what you are looking for.
