I en ny utställning på Konsthögskolan presenteras Qualia, ett filosofiskt begrepp som beskriver subjektiva, medvetna upplevelser.

As the perception of color, the taste of vine or physical pain. By linguistic we have created an agreement of what to call our different experiences of perception. If you were told that this text is black, you would probably not object. But how does one know that everyone's experience of a, for example agreed color, is the same?
Qualia is the title of the exhibition by Ellen, Jenny and Carolina, but also the connected point in their works. Thinking of how we see and what we see - orientating in directions of our common surroundings. The constructed and communicative representation of seeing and experiencing in everyday life.
The American Professor and philosopher Daniel Dennett determents qualia as "an unfamiliar term for something that could not be more familiar to each of us: the ways things seem to us". As qualitative characters of sensation, "Qualia" stands in contrast to the term "Propositional attitudes", where the focus is on beliefs about experience rather than what is it like to be experiencing.
The body of works in the exhibition meets in a momentum of movement. With the combinations of sound, objects and pictorial representations the room echoes on the shoreline where organic materials meet constructed thought. In the making there is a present pulse of where a city landscape exceeds to the melody of nature.
