Grant from Föreningen Oskarfonden

10 October 2023

Research grants can be granted to individual researchers or research groups for research projects in the field of children with disabilities or other chronic diseases. A total of SEK 500,000 is awarded for the year 2024. The application must be sent no later than 1 December.

The research must be focused on diagnostics, treatment or prevention of disabilities or future diseases in children and young people.
The grants aim to promote the regrowth of younger researchers by prioritizing grants to researchers on the way in their career to a higher degree, over grants to larger, already established research groups. Funds are also set aside for a recruitment grant for healthcare research to preferably younger researchers. For all types of grants from the Oskar Foundation, the researcher must be formally connected to Umeå University in some way.
Scientific prioritization of received applications is done by an assessment committee at Umeå University and awarded grants are managed by the university.

General guidelines:
Research conducted at or in collaboration with Umeå University is prioritized. Project grants can be granted to the same project for a maximum of 3 consecutive years.

About the application:
The application must contain information about the applicant's name, workplace, research program (maximum 6 A4 pages including references, possibly figures and tables), cost estimate, curriculum vitae, list of scientific publications and, where applicable, approval by the ethics review authority. Clarify the relevance of the application according to the fund's criteria (see above). The committee does not recommend that a project be divided into several applications. If funds have been granted previously, a progress report must be attached.

Application forms can be requested electronically via e-mail to marlene.engstrom@umu.se
