Opens soon: Project support for humanities and social sciences

20 December 2023

Riksbankens Jubileumsfond's (RJ) annual call for proposals in the humanities and social sciences will be open for three weeks in January. Individual researchers and small groups of researchers are welcome to apply for funding of projects with well-defined research tasks, with a duration of up to three years.

These are some key stipulations of the call:

  • All researchers participating in the project must have obtained their PhD when you apply.
  • Participants must have submitted their final reports for any previous funding from RJ.
  • You cannot receive funds for projects that have already started or that will receive funds from another external source.
  • Your research group must be connected to Sweden.
  • Each person can only participate in one application.

Excellent opportunities for collaboration support

Since 2022, approved RJ Projects are automatically awarded collaboration support of up to SEK 150,000. The collaboration support can be used up to three years after the end of the project and does not impact the final reporting of the research project.

RJ also encourages all researchers applying for grants to incorporate plans for collaboration and sharing of findings in their applications.

A two-stage application process

The first round closes on 30 January. At this stage, a summary, a project description, a budget and a budget specification is required. The review panel makes their decision in late March.

The second round closes on 23 April. For this round, you need to expand your project description, and also prepare a data management plan.

you will submit your applications through RJ:s application system.
