Call: UCMR Young Investigator Programme

Early career researchers who are interested in playing an active role in the UCMR community can apply for a UCMR Young Investigator grant.

International recruitment of assistant professor (biträdande universitetslektor) is an important strategy for the renewal of science at Umeå University. UCMR plays an active role in attracting applications from promising researchers in the early stage of their career and provides a promising environment for cutting-edge research.

A UCMR Young Investigator will

Receive a grant of up to 1.5 Mkr for a postdoc for two years from UCMR;

Be formally designated as a UCMR research group and presented at the UCMR website;

Have the opportunity to participate UCMR community activities and outreach.

Qualification

Eligible to apply are new assistant professors (biträdande universitetslektor) employed at Umeå University.

The applicant should have been an assistant professor no more than one year before the closing date of the application;

The applicant should have a promising research profile;

The applicant should have a close working relationship with UCMR research that contribute to the scientific development of UCMR.

Application instructions

The following must be included in the application:

• Project title
• Project description, max two A4 pages (Times New Roman, font size 11, margins 2.5 cm), describing concisely:
1. Objectives in relation to research
2. Project plan and significance
3. Available resources, including existing internal and external funding
• CV of the applicant
