Anders Fällström, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University, is being recommended as new Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University, according to information provided by the Mid Sweden University Board. The Government will make a decision in November.

"It would be a great loss for Umeå University if Anders Fällström moved to Mid Sweden University. At the same time, I'm happy for Anders and wish him all the best in his new role. The relationship we have built up since the start of my appointment provides good opportunities for future collaboration," says Hans Adolfsson, Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University.

Anders Fällström is senior lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, has formerly worked as Pro-Vice-Chancellor and is currently Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University, in both roles responsible for education. Hans Adolfsson is now initiating the work of finding a replacement for Anders Fällström in the University Management who can take over responsibility of education.

"I recently completed the recruitment process for the new Management, and in that process several suitable candidates emerged. That's why I now hope that this can be quickly resolved as soon as the Government has made their decision," says Hans Adolfsson.
