Research Data Management at Humfak

21 January 2021

In order to become better prepared to support research data management practices, Humlab and the University Library (UB) are conducting a research study of all ranks of faculty and PhD students at Humfak.

Your participation in this study is important and will help to:

  • determine how employees at Humfak manage and share research data
  • understand what support researchers may need to adhere to good research data practices
  • determine how UB and Humlab might help to facilitate data management activities

DESCRIPTION OF THE RESEARCH

Information will be gathered for this research project through the use of a survey. The survey will ask you how you work with your research data, how you share your data, your attitudes towards FAIR data management, and basic demographic questions about your professional status.

The survey does not collect any personal information about you other than your current position at Humfak, and the answers that you provide cannot be associated with you as a person.

The estimated time to complete the survey is about 10-15 minutes. We would appreciate your response by Monday, 25 January 2021.

AFTER DATA COLLECTION

Data will be stored electronically on ITS Trygg filyta (secure storage space), accessible only to the research team, for an indefinite length of time. Data collected will guide the development of a research data infrastructure at Humfak. Data collected will also help UB to design services for the benefit of the UmU academic community, and it will be necessary to keep the data for as long as it serves this purpose.

Access to the survey data will be limited to the research team. The survey findings may be published or presented in scholarly communications. If you would like a summary of the survey results, you may contact the Principal Investigator - Linda Sandström, linda.sandstrom@umu.se

BY CONTINUING YOU AGREE:

  • That the survey research team has your consent to use the information submitted to prepare library programs and to publish or present findings in scholarly communications
  • That the survey research team has your consent to the use of your information as described in this form
  • To take part in this study
