UCMR Distinguished Guests Seminars Series – Nadine Cerf-Bensussan

30 May 2022

Umeå Center for Microbial Research, UCMR, invites to the next lecture in its seminar series in infection research on Tuesday 7 June at 14-15. You can participate both on site at KBC or via Zoom.

Postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students and students are warmly welcomed.

Speaker: Nadine Cerf-Bensussan MD PhD, Institut IMAGINE-INSERM, Université Paris Cité, France

Lecture title: Dissecting host-microbiota interactions across the immune system: lessons from gnotobiotic mice and human monogenic disorders

Host: Andrea Puhar, Research fellow at Department of Molecular Biology

Nadine Cerf-Bensussan MD PhD, is Director of Research of Exceptional Class at the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche (Inserm) and head of the laboratory of Intestinal Immunity at the Institute Imagine, Université Paris Cité. Her work aims at deciphering mechanisms indispensable to maintain gut homeostasis, notably through the study of model human diseases such as coeliac disease and monogenic intestinal disorders. In addition, work led with V. Gaboriau-Routhiau uses gnotobiotic mice to address host-microbiota interactions and more particularly to study the role of Segmented Filamentous Bacterium in the post-natal maturation of the gut barrier. She was awarded an ERC Advanced grant in 2013, received the Inserm Prize of Research in 2014 and the Maki Celiac Tampere Prize in 2018. She is currently coordinator of Inserm Transversal Program on Microbiota.
