Nominate electorates and group alternates to UMU's assembly of electorates

On July 1, 2022, the vice-chancellor decided a "Rule according to Umeå University's assembly of electorates for the period 07-01-2022–06-30-2026" (FS 1.1-1304-22). According to the rule, the appointment of electors and group substitutes must be taken care of by the respective faculty.

The faculties must ensure that there is a gender even composition of the faculty's electors and deputies. All employees at the faculty can submit their own proposals to electors and group alternates.

By decision, the faculty must announce which electors and alternates that have been appointed by the faculty no later than 5 October 2022.

All employees at the Faculty of Humanities can therefore nominate electors (max 5 people) and group deputies (max 2 people) no later than September 2 2022.

In accordance with the Rules of Procedure for Umeå University (FS 1.1-1156-21), the assembly of electors at Umeå University shall consist of 45 scientifically competent members ("scientifically competent" teachers in this context means permanent teachers who have completed a doctorate. This also includes anyone who is permanently employed as a professor or university lecturer on an artistic basis) and 15 group alternates who represent the university's four faculties according to a proportional distribution according to the number of scientifically competent teachers per faculty.

The electoral assembly, whose term of office is four years, serves as an electoral assembly when appointing the teachers to the university board and when appointing electors and substitutes to the research councils' elector assemblies at region 5.

The assembly also forms part of the hearing assembly in the appointment of a rector. The Electoral Assembly can also serve as an electoral assembly or hearing assembly in other appointment processes at Umeå University.
