Test for waste disposal in offices

28 October 2022

A pilot project for sorting waste is now being initiated at the offices in the University Administration Building and the University Management Building.

The traditional waste bins in offices will be removed and replaced by shared waste sorting bins where paper, plastic packaging and office waste suitable for energy recycling can be left.

  • Paper: (the green barrel) prints, newspapers and notes etcetera
  • Waste-to-energy: paper cups, post-it notes, envelopes etcetera
  • Plastic packaging: cups, lunch boxes, lids and bags etcetera made of plastic.

The new recycling bins will be emptied once a week to begin with. Emptying frequency may be adjusted based on the evaluation.

To the recycling room

Office waste that are not suitable in the recycling bins must be left in the recycling rooms. For example, batteries, electronics, glass, light bulbs, cardboard, fluorescent lamps, metal packaging and corrugated board. The recycling room is located on the 2nd floor of the University Administration Building.

Compost waste

Compost waste, such as fruit, coffee grounds and food scraps, should not be left in the new recycling bins, but should continue to be left in containers that have daily emptying. However, the ambition is that compost waste can also be sorted in the future.
