Seminar on excellent research

13 April 2023

On May 10, Forska!Sverige and its member association "Agenda for health and prosperity" organize a seminar in Stockholm to present a new report with an analysis of the current situation and 10 prioritized measures, which aim to increase health and prosperity in Sweden.

Excellent research is required to secure Sweden's role as a nation of knowledge, develop healthcare and create fertile ground for an internationally competitive business climate. In healthcare, there is a shift towards precision medicine, not least through increased use of health data. It places new demands on the organization and competence of care, as well as on collaboration between patients, care, researchers and companies.
Forska!Sverige's association Agenda for health and prosperity consists of 35 organizations representing universities, care, industry, authorities, professional and patient organizations that collaborate to improve the conditions for medical research, care and entrepreneurship in Sweden.

The 10 high-priority measures mentioned aim for Sweden to have
• excellent research and education
• clinical studies as an integral part of care
• effective implementation of precision medicine and
• care that acts as an "early user".

At the seminar, proposals and action plans will be presented and discussed with, among others, Education Minister Mats Persson, Healthcare Minister Acko Ankarberg Johansson and Petra Noreback, State Secretary to Social Affairs Minister Jakob Forssmed.

Date and time: 10 May, 10am–12pm (coffee/tea from 9.30am)
Location: Eva and Georg Klein room, Biomedicum, Karolinska Institutet, Solnavägen 9, Stockholm. It is also possible to follow the seminar remotely.
