The Scheele symposium highlights award-winning research

21 August 2023

On November 9, the Scheele Symposium will be arranged in Stockholm to pay attention to 2023 Scheele Award winner Professor Peter G. Schultz's pioneering research in chemical biology. In addition to the prize winner himself, a number of different researchers will lecture, including Christian Hedberg, Department of Chemistry at Umeå University.

The 51st Scheele Award was awarded earlier this year to American researcher Professor Peter G. Schultz, The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, USA. He receives the prize for his scientific efforts at the interface between chemistry, biology and medicine. His research has, among other things, resulted in two cancer drugs that have reached the market, and clinical development is ongoing around additional new drugs.

The Scheele Symposium is organized in his honor with a series of lectures, as well as an award ceremony and panel debate.
