A course on preventing and dealing with pressures, threats and violence

    Umeå University has a zero tolerance policy regarding threats and violence. Preventive efforts to counter pressure is a crucial role in creating a work environment where everyone at Umeå University feels well and is treated with respect.

    The goal of this course is to contribute to a safer and more secure work environment for all individuals at Umeå University. All employees of Umeå University can participate in the course, which is available in both Swedish and an English subtitled version.

    The course takes approximately 2 hours to complete and consists of interactive scenarios, film scenes, interviews, expert comments, and brief knowledge tests.

    In this course, you will learn:

    • how to respond to agitated and threatening people in physical encounters, on the phone or in social media.
    • about risk factors, preparedness and tools to reduce the risk of incidents of threats or violence.
    • about collaboration, procedures and ways of continuing to work with these issues in the workplace.
