New system for doctoral students’ individual study plans in action

11 May 2016

Umeå University has developed a new web-based system for the managing doctoral students' individual study plans. The system will be implemented in May 2016.

All active doctoral students who have at least one follow-up before examination should use the web-based individual study plan. A transitional period is allowed, but no later than 1 May 2017, all active doctoral students should use this web-based individual study plan. The development has been led by Mikael Lindgren at Ladokgruppen, Student Services.

System that makes things easier

"We are pleased about having a system that will simplify for doctoral students, supervisors and for departments to follow-up on the individual study plans. The system will improve for all doctoral students especially with regards to security. At the same time, the work will simplify for upcoming evaluations by the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ)," says planning coordinator Lena Holm.

Seminars and demonstrations of the system

Student Services/Ladokgruppen will offer seminars where the setup and functions of the system will be demonstrated. These courses will be held in May and June."Everyone interested is welcome to register to the seminars, but the key audience is those responsible for research programmes at the departments," says Mikael Lindgren.
More information about the system can be found at Ladokgruppen's page for Web-ISP
