Do you want to learn Swedish?

    Are you an international employee at Umeå University, perhaps you are a researcher, lecturer, PhD student or administrative staff member? Are you interested in learning Swedish? This autumn the university is offering a Swedish course for beginners. Last day to registrate: 18 June.

    Umeå University has an increasing number of international employees. Many wish to learn Swedish as soon as possible, as it makes it easier to understand and be part of university life.

    This autumn, the Office of Human Resources and the Department of Language Studies are, for the first time, running a Swedish course for beginners – Swedish for Academics 1.

    The content of the course is tailored to the academic context and the target group's needs. The course will meet once a week, one afternoon during the Autumn semester.

    "We wish to offer new international employees at Umeå University a warm welcome and the opportunity to learn Swedish", says Karin Lundström from the International Staff Support. "We hope there is a lot of interest for the course, so we can continue to give courses on additional levels".

    The course lecturers come from the Department of Language Studies and have many years experience of teaching foreign students with different backgrounds.
