Nominate for the Scheele Award

19 August 2022

The Swedish Pharmaceutical Societey, Apotekarsocieteten, is now opening nominations for the 2023 Scheele Award, which aims to highlight current pharmaceutical research. Nominations for the prize should be submitted by 15 September.

The Scheele Award is Apotekarsocieten's biggest scientific prize. It is awarded every two years to honour the memory of the world-famous Swedish chemist and pharmacist Carl Wilhelm Scheele and to promote current pharmaceutical research and build networks between Sweden and the rest of the world.

The prize has been awarded since 1961 and includes a medal, a diploma and SEK 250 000. A special Scheele symposium is also organised in the subject area in which the current laureate is active.

With the award, Apotekarsocieteten wants to recognise in particular researchers whose discoveries are important in drug development and pharmaceutical research and will have a major impact on the medicines of the future. However, this does not mean that there must be ready-made medicines based on the laureate's discoveries.

Apotekarsocieteten is an independent non-profit association and a meeting place for professionals in the entire pharmaceutical chain from research and development to use.
