Application opportunity for SSF Industrial PhD 2024

    In an effort to enhance collaboration between academia and industry, SSF is currently allocating SEK 39 million towards research and doctoral education for twelve candidates pursuing an industrial PhD. The application deadline is 21st May.

    The programme aims to contribute to outstanding research within the domains funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF): natural sciences, engineering, and medicine.

    Supporting a collaborative doctoral candidate

    This initiative is open to individuals not yet enrolled in any doctoral programme. The industrial PhD candidate will engage in research while being employed by a company or hospital for a minimum of 80 percent. Additionally, they are required to have two supervisors – one at the academic institution and one at the respective organisation.

    The grant, amounting to 3.25 million Swedish kronor over a period of up to five years, is intended to culminate in the awarding of a doctoral degree.

    The main applicant should be the supervisor at the university, while the co-applicant should be the supervisor at the company or hospital.
