Participants for MIRAI: Specific Task Teams

Information about MIRAI

MIRAI aims at connecting Swedish and Japanese universities through research, education and innovation. The project is specifically directed at researchers at an early stage of their career, to lead future joint activities between universities in the two countries.

Within the project there are several activities, like seminar weeks, workshops etc. Project activities can be found on MIRAI:s web: www.mirai.nu 

Within the next phase of the project all partner universities shall nominate participants for the so called: Specific Task Teams. These groups shall work in a interdisciplinary and challenge based way. Umeå University has an open call and welcomes both junior and senior academics and T/A staff to apply. Application deadline is: May 6th, 2024. 

The following advanced goals have been set for the third phase of MIRAI (2024-2026):

• Contribute to solving global challenges by setting up groups where researchers from MIRAI universities work together across and beyond institutions, countries, disciplines and sectors.
• Create an environment to promote long-term research collaborations.
• Facilitate PhD student and researcher mobility.
• Promote innovation and entrepreneurship in education and research and facilitate joint efforts between academia, industry and external partners.

Specific Task Teams (STTs)

MIRAI will form smaller strong teams, consisting of approximately 2-3 representatives from each country, around three specific tasks:

Specific Task 1: Research funding support (see 5.1 in the Project Plan)
Specific Task 2: Communication and branding (see 5.2 in the Project Plan)
Specific Task 3: Innovation and entrepreneurship (see 5.3 in the Project Plan)

• Details of each STT are available at the full text of the MIRAI Project Plan (MIRAI Post 2023).
• Each STT should have a co-chair from each country.
