Students are greeted on campus

    On Thursday 1 September at 10:00–14:30, the annual Student Welcome Fair takes place on Campus Umeå. At the Fair, exhibitors from the University, unions, the municipality, companies and associations exhibit their offerings to returning and new students alike.

    The Student Welcome Fair shows visitors much of what Umeå has to offer to improve and simplify student life. The Fair includes shows, competitions, useful information and good-to-know facts about the University, what local associations have to offer and it also gives a taste of Umeå's nightlife.

    This year, Culture on Campus presents the humour duo HÄK, Humor är Kul, with Umeå-based comedians Tora Larsson and Elvira Lander at 12:10 in Rotundan, Universum. The show will be held in Swedish.

    The Student Welcome Fair takes place at Universum, in the Lindell Hall and between these both buildings on Universitetstorget. About 160 exhibitors have registered, which is a big increase from last year and shows that the interest in the Fair remains strong.

    "We are looking forward to the day, which signals that the semester properly kicks off," says project manager Maria Hammarström.
