IT fusion – two offices become one

28 February 2018

Digitalisation creates new opportunities, but also vulnerability and the demands for collaboration and stability in the field of IT increase. To coordinate the University's joint IT operations, and prioritise resources in a more structural way, the IT Office and ICT Services and System Development (ITS) will join forces. Further forms of increased collaboration with IT operations across the University will also be examined.

"The IT operations at the University generally work well, but an increased digitalisation and complexity means that further collaboration and steering is required to deliver a secure, efficient and qualitative support to the organisation in the future. This includes integrating current and upcoming systems, and prevent security risks. We will, therefore, recruit someone to lead the fusion of the IT Office and ITS, and who will be able to implement the investments needed," says University Director Caroline Sjöberg, who has been given the task to investigate and suggest forms for increased collaboration between other IT operations across the University.

The plan is for the IT Office and ITS to join forces in spring 2019.
