Extended telephony agreement – and news about mobile phone services

    Umeå University´s telephony agreement has been extended for one year until 30 May 2020 and it includes landline phones and mobile phone services.

    The purpose of this extension is to have sufficient time for the preparation of a proposal, which is mainly a collection of requirements from all levels at the University. Work on the new procurement has begun and is expected to be completed around the end of the year, making it possible for a good transition on 1 June 2020.

    As of the 25 of March, employees with mobile phone contracts can:
    - Purchase extra data when traveling outside of Sweden
    - Make and receive wifi calls when mobile network service is not available or sufficient, provided there is wifi access.

    As of the 1st of June, the 3G/4G data in the smallest mobile contract will increase from 2 to 3 GB per month.
