New introductory programme for employees and stipends

2 November 2021

The university has now launched a new introductory program aimed for employees and stipends. The program consists of videos, seminars and a social event that together welcome and summarizes the most important things that newcomers at the university need to be aware of.

The introductory program is primarily aimed at new employees and stipends but is open for everybody who is interested in knowing more about the university as a workplace and employer.

- Even if you are not a new at the university, there are many benefits to take part of the program, so we also encourage those who have been here for a while to participate, says Torbjörn Forsberg Human Resources Office.

The introductory program is available in the university's learning platform Canvas and a Umu ID is required to log in and register.

The program contains of a digital part with videos and text chapters about the university and include information about the common basic values for civil servants, equal opportunities, working conditions, working environment and safety to mention some. In total, it takes 2-3 hours to complete the first part.

After this it is possible to sign up for seminars to get more in-depth information and knowledge about some themes, such as basic values and equal opportunities, intercultural awareness and research support. There is also a joint social event at Curiosum.

- Something that the participants in the previous introductory days greatly appreciated was the opportunity to meet and get to know other new colleagues, therefore we have chosen to keep this opportunity by offering a seminar series and a social event, says Rosita Nilsson, Human Resources Office.
