Decision to prolong Deputy Vice-Chancellors’ appointments expected

On Friday 1 July, Vice-Chancellor Hans Adolfsson is expected to reach a decision to prolong Dieter Müller's appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor for another three years. While waiting for the recruitment of a Deputy Vice-Chancellor of education to be finalised, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Heidi Hansson's appointment is expected to be extended until 30 September 2022.

Professor Dieter Müller will continue his role as Deputy Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for research and doctoral education in social sciences and the arts. But he will take on a new assignment too – responsibility for the University's role in the ongoing societal transformation in northern Sweden. The extended appointment will run from 1 July 2022 until 30 June 2025.

Professor Heidi Hansson has previously announced that she is not available for reappointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of education. Until the recruitment of her replacement has been completed, Heidi Hansson's appointment is expected to be extended until 30 September 2022. In addition to her current role, she will also take on responsibility for the European Universities Initiative (EUI).
