Nominate members to the Electoral Assembly

A new Electoral Assembly is to be appointed at Umeå University. Employees at the Faculty of Science and Technology can anonymously nominate members via an online form. The deadline for nominations is September 2.

The Electoral Assembly at Umeå University consists of 45 scientifically competent members and 15 group deputies and represents the university's four faculties according to a proportional distribution. The term of office is four years.

The Faculty of Science and Technology may propose twelve full electors and four group deputies. The nominees must be permanently employed teachers with a doctoral degree. Permanently employed professors and lecturers on an artistic basis may also be nominated. Nominees shall not be asked in advance. Former members of the assembly can be re-nominated, there is no time limit.

The Electoral Assembly has several tasks. It is the electoral assembly for the appointment of teachers to the University Board, and for the appointment of electors and substitutes to the VR, Forte and Formas research councils electoral assemblies at Region 5. The Electoral Assembly is also part of the hearing assembly for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor.

All employees of the faculty may nominate members. Nominations are submitted in a form on this page:

A short motivation must be given for each nomination.

The deadline for submitting proposals is September 2.
After that, the faculty management will propose candidates on the basis of the nominations received and on its own initiative. On 28 September, the Faculty Board will decide which electors will represent the faculty.
