Higher education that meets the intricate challenges of society

The get-together goes under the abbreviation AcrossEU IPAD Summit, which is short for AcrossEU IT-Pedagogues and Academic Developers' staff week.

The objective is for participants to get to know each other, explore common traits and differences, and to begin implementing the alliance's vision and objectives. On the agenda for this week are discussions about future educations and interdisciplinary competences. The overall aim is to work mutually within the alliance towards creating higher education that meets the intricate challenges of society.

"We see huge advantages of facing common challenges together, and this marks the official start of our project," says Eva Svedmark.

Strategic alliance

Umeå University has several international collaborations aimed at promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences and strengthening research and education. One of these projects is AcrossEU, which is a strategic alliance between nine European universities in Sweden, Finland, France, Italy, North Macedonia, Switzerland, Spain and the Czech Republic. The alliance offers students, researchers and the academic community a possibility to get involved in collaborations and exchange programmes.
